Our marketplace and carry out kitchen located in downtown Fairfax, CA provides you with the tools you need to make your home entertaining and weeknight cooking effortless and delicious. We sell fresh and frozen prepared meals, cheeses by the pound, charcuteries, signature pantry staples, specialty foods, condiments, dips, party supplies and more. Pre-order grazing boxes, cookies boxes, small bites, platters, small crowd casual catering and gift baskets for your next corporate or special event or stop in and curate your own.
Portside Marketplace + Catering is passionate about food and our environment. We carefully select the best quality ingredients, and shop our local famers markets weekly. The majority of our ingredients are organic and our meats are always humanely raised with NO ANTIBIOTICS EVER. We take sustainability seriously and source consciously. While it’s difficult to achieve perfection, we put a lot of thought into every decision we make.
The Chef
Dina Berkhout is a chef, visual artist and mother of 3. She has travelled extensively, internationally and through the Great Lakes as chef on numerous Tall ships. She stopped at a new port somewhere in the world every few days or weeks, seeking out the local markets and making connections with people and business owners and to provision for the next leg of her’s ships adventure. The mother hen role to passengers and crew was taken seriously, always placing the utmost importance on keeping her community nourished and happy.
Now living a more grounded lifestyle, she strives to bring her current community the flavors and cuisines she’s learned and loved from around the globe.
Dina grew up in the Midwest in a large Middle Eastern family with food at the center of every gathering. She believes that personal connections and community are best made over a shared table.
